ABOUT:
Delta Aero Racing is a project dedicated to facilitating and regulating a new breed of RC aeroplane racing events.
We have compiled a complete package of hardware and software to enabling anyone get inolved easily and with minimal expense.
From manufacturing and assembling your own racing delta plane, to wiring the electronics, configuring the software, developing piloting skill and muscling for rank in competition; all areas have been refined into an enjoyable and accessible experience. DELTA ZERO PLANE:
The Delta Zero is a compact delta wing with an abundance of power for it's size. It's not a model aircraft, it's a purpose designed racing machine. Aerodynamics optimized for racing dynamics
THRUST:It's thrust is provided by two 23mm BLDC motors running 5" propellors.
VIDEO: It's video system is the free and open source OpenIPC FPV, this gives the craft digital HD video streaming at 120fps while using abundant and inexpensive electronics.
POWER: Most drones and model aircraft use lithium based chemistry for thier batteries, these come with serious social, environmental and safety concerns. The regulation Delta Zero plane is powered by sodium ion cells! They are an emurging battery chemistry with improved sustainability, due to the abundance of sodium, and improved safety as they do not explode or create flames when damaged! This enables Delta Aero Racing pilots to rest easy with the batteries in thier home
Pilot Profiles:
Each DAR pilot has an online profile where they can showcase thier best lap times around our offical racetracks. Global and local leaderboards, ranking and event wins. This profile can also show data from the simulator
